Boys & Girls Clubs Day of Advocacy
Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito
Visit the White House
Boys & Girls Clubs (BGC) of San Dieguito Chief Executive Officer, David H. Crean, and Chairman of the Board, Edward P. Wallace, paid a visit to Washington, D.C. along with over fifty of the largest Boys & Girls Clubs in the nation to partake in the first-ever BGC Day of Advocacy. Leaders from nearly 100 major metro Boys & Girls Clubs were invited to the event.
“I am honored and privileged to be a part of such an outstanding event that can impact the Boys & Girls Club movement in such a positive way,” stated David. “It is my chance as the leader of this BGC San Dieguito to speak on behalf of this organization and make sure we can stay at the forefront as a leader in San Diego for youth programs and after school care.”
The event took place during National Boys & Girls Clubs Week, and the major metro Boys & Girls Clubs were able to advocate for BGC by conveying the BGC message to members of Congress on Capitol Hill, building brand awareness, and congregating together to garner support for children’s lives across America. Major metro Boys & Girls Clubs represent clubs with a budget of $3 million and above, or clubs with a budget between $2.5 million and $3 million and located in a community that is in one of the top thirty DMA markets, or has a population of 500,000 or more.
