The Marvel Experience: The World’s First Hyper-Reality Tour has extended its smash-hit engagement in San Diego due to popular demand and overwhelming ticket sales. Hero Ventures made the announcement last night at a private party in front of VIP guests including filmmaker Kevin Smith, who voices villain M.O.D.O.K. in The Marvel Experience, and Jason Mewes. Audiences in San Diego, a city known around the world as the epicenter of multi-genre entertainment and comic culture, have been flocking to the Del Mar Fair Grounds to visit The Marvel Experience since it opened there on February 7. The engagement, originally slated to end on February 22, has been extended one week through March 1.

“The enthusiasm we’ve seen from San Diego audiences has been nothing short of overwhelming,” said Hero Ventures’ COO Doug Schaer and CEO Rick Licht, in a joint statement. “We are so grateful for how this city, home of Comic-Con International, has embraced The Marvel Experience, and we are excited to be able to stick around a little bit longer.”

Following its extended run in San Diego, The Marvel Experience will head to Chicago’s Soldier Field beginning on Thursday, April 2. Additional information on the Chicago engagement will be announced shortly.

Crafted by Los Angeles-based experiential entertainment company, Hero Ventures, The Marvel Experience invites generations of Marvel comic book and movie fans to join forces with some of the world’s most beloved Super Heroes in a place where the real world and imagination become one.

This first-of-its-kind premier touring experience features a thrilling motion ride, the world’s only 360-degree Stereoscopic 3D Dome, a wide range of technologically advanced interactive and immersive elements, state of the art projection techniques and dozens of Marvel’s most popular Super Heroes.

As agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in training, guests of The Marvel Experience will swing with Spider-Man, smash with Hulk, fly with Iron Man and more, all in preparation for an epic battle alongside Marvel’s biggest Super Heroes in a fight against Red Skull, M.O.D.O.K. and an army of evil Adaptoids. The Marvel Experience incorporates next-generation interactive technology including augmented reality, multi-person gaming and immersive elements that put you right in the middle of the action. Everything happens with bleeding-edge technology and advanced computer animation. There’s nothing else like it. Not only does the audience get to join the adventure, in the end they may even become heroes themselves.
