Charity cycling event Bike 4 Mike is set to take off on Oct. 25 in Del Mar. The event offers 10-, 25-, and 50-mile coastal rides and spin classes benefiting the Team Godfather Charitable Foundation’s vision to find a cure for ALS. Bike 4 Mike is named in honor of the late Michael Ramirez of Carlsbad, a man who courageously battled the disease before his passing.

New to the event this year is the Century Metric Course, a 62-mile course that will start and end at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Along with the original courses and spin classes, there will also be a post-ride Mexican fiesta, complete with vendor booths, music, and refreshments. All donations will go towards ALS research at ALS Therapy Development Institute, to help develop treatments and research a cure. Events like Bike 4 Mike help to fund crucial research programs for the institute. For more information and to register visit www.bike4mike.org.
