Cyclists of all levels recently banded together at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in an effort to help fight diabetes. The 2016 Tour de Cure, benefiting the Greater San Diego Area of the American Diabetes Association, registered more than 600 participants and raised over $300,000.

“This is a ride to take on the challenge of defeating diabetes. Every mile we ride and every dollar we raise brings us that much closer to reaching our common goal to stop this disease that affects over 29 million Americans,” said Larissa Roman, executive director of Greater San Diego Area American Diabetes Association. Cyclists had the opportunity to participate in 15-mile, 29-mile, 62-mile, and 100-mile courses. Waiting at the finish line were vendors, live music, food, and refreshments.
