The San Diego Foundation, in partnership with The Del Mar Healthcare Fund, recently announced the availability of grant funding through the Age Friendly Communities Program. The program seeks to understand and address the challenges of San Diego’s rising aging population and ensure that they are able to age in place and stay connected to their communities. The 2017 grant cycle will prioritize collaborative nonprofit projects that enhance the quality of life for those age 55 and older in San Diego County through at least one of the following focus areas: transportation, housing, health services, social participation, and community support. The grants will range from $50,000 to $75,000 annually, with a possible second year renewal of equal funding.

For more than 40 years, the San Diego Foundation and its donors have granted more than $1 billion to enact positive social change in the San Diego region. Learn more at www.sdfoundation.org/agefriendly.
