The Goodguys 17th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals drew over 2,700 vintage show cars and thousands of guests to the Del Mar Fairgrounds this year. The three-day event featured a top-quality collection of cars, an indoor car show, Over the Hill Gang Poker Run, vendors, swap meet, and car sale. Winners included: G3 Rods’ ‘56 Nomad for Custom Rod of the Year; Tony Arme’s ‘32 Ford hot rod pickup for Truck of the Year-Early Honors; Rich Tillema’s ‘61Chevy Blazer for Truck of the Year-Late; Walt and Tina Dias’ ‘68 Plymouth Hemi Roadrunner for Muscle Car of the Year; Timeless Customs’ “Viscous ‘Stang” for Muscle Machine of the Year; and Bruce Wanta’s coach-built Mulholland Speedster for Street Rod d’Elegance. Weekend race winners included: Casey Cronin (‘72 Corvette), Bill Kinsman (‘72 Bronco), Dennis Russell (‘33 Factory Five Ford), and Rick Juno (‘68 Camaro).
