The San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) Board of Trustees has appointed Mr. Reno Medina as the new principal of Earl Warren Middle School. He is currently the assistant principal at La Costa Canyon High School. Mr. Medina is already familiar with the staff, parents, and community at Earl Warren, where he previously served as assistant principal and was involved in the planning of the new school campus. He is also knowledgeable about special education, which will be of value to the specialized programs at the school. He will officially assume his new role beginning on July 1.

Mr. Medina earned his bachelor’s degree, teaching credentials, and master’s degree from San Diego State University. He began his education career at Pacific Beach Middle School in 1999. In 2004, he joined SDUHSD as a founding faculty member of Canyon Crest Academy. After two years of teaching, he became a district program specialist serving six area schools. In 2013, Mr. Medina became the assistant principal at Earl Warren and in 2015, he was selected to serve as the assistant principal at La Costa Canyon High School. Mr. Medina lives in Carlsbad with his wife and two twin boys. He enjoys surfing, golf, and traveling with his family.

SDUHSD serves 7th through 12th grade students in the communities of Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff, Rancho Santa Fe, and surrounding areas. Earl Warren Middle School is a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School. Learn more at ew.sduhsd.net.
