The School for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SET) awarded its first Robert Baizer Scholarship to recent SET graduate Lucas Weed. Lucas was heavily involved with SET’s First Tech Challenge robotics program during his time at the school and was also an active leader at his church. He will be attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville in the fall to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering, with the ultimate goal of working at SpaceX.

Established in 2017, the Robert Baizer Scholarship Fund was named after Del Mar resident and SET’s first board chair Robert Baizer. The scholarship provides a one-time award of $2,000 to a graduating student who best exemplifies the school’s academic, ethical, community service, and leadership principles. It is the highest student achievement at SET.
