Del Mar’s brand new civic center is officially open for business. The center, located at the site of the former city hall at Camino Del Mar and 10th St., includes a 3,000-square-foot town hall where the City Council and city committees will meet, a 9,000-square-foot city hall, and a 13,000-square-foot plaza for the public to enjoy. The building also has underground parking and a rooftop deck with ocean views. Employees moved into the new space in late May, with a formal grand opening on June 30. “I really hope the community will see this as an asset for themselves, a beautiful place for them to come and enjoy,” said Assistant City Manager Kristen Crane, who oversaw planning and construction of the project.
