More than 250 people enjoyed a day of bocce, beer, food, music, and children’s activities at the Del Mar-Solana Beach Rotary Club’s 22nd annual BocceFest, raising over $42,000 for major beneficiaries Just in Time for Foster Youth and Reality Changers as well as other charitable programs.

Del Mar Mayor Dwight Worden and Deputy Mayor David Druker opened the tournament by playing the first game against Solana Beach Mayor David Zito and Deputy Mayor Jewel Edson. The Solana Beach team prevailed again, with bragging rights until next year’s event. Victor Barreiro and Victor Albright of the Hungry Termite team won first place in the tournament and contributed their $300 winners’ check to the Send Me Foundation. The second place team consisting of Mike and Katie Butler Litskey contributed their $200 runner-up check to Homeboy Industries. Consolation round winners Phil Baker and Korey Mulvey contributed their $100 prize to Just in Time for Foster Youth. Learn more at www.dmsbrotary.com.
