Local author Kathy Cooperman recently penned a novel called The Very Principled Maggie Mayfield, a fun, witty story of friendship and romance that also looks at San Diego’s public education system. The book centers on Maggie Mayfield, a pragmatic but idealistic principal at an elementary school in Carmel Valley. To keep her cash-strapped school afloat and avoid layoffs, Maggie accepts a deal from Silicon Valley’s hottest for-profit education company, requiring her students to beta-test their program. When things take a turn for the worse, Maggie and her assistant Diane must salvage the good – by going a little bad.
Kathy is an ex-improv comic, a recovering attorney, and a mother of four. She is also the author of the Amazon bestseller Crimes Against a Book Club. Both of her books are available on Amazon.
